My walls

I am safe within my walls

Nothing gets in or out

Vainly they attempt to break my walls

But years of pillage has made them stout.

I venture not from my fortress

I am weak without protection

I let no-one into my fortress

Not even on terms of affection

They hold counsel against me, I hear it not

They attempt to reach me, I accept them not

I might be lonely, but I care not

I am safe within my walls
